Making Learning Accessible To All

Inclusivity is enshrined in Sunmarke’s ethos where we welcome a diverse range of learners from EYFS to Secondary. The Achievement Centre takes the lead in providing an inclusive education to students in close collaboration with parents, teachers and external specialists.

Fortes Intensive English Language Programme

The Fortes English Language Programme is an interactive and effective English Language programme enabling children to build strong English language skills to boost their academic performance.

Students actively learn new skills through drama, art, cookery and class lessons with expert English language teachers, earning a Certificate of English Proficiency upon completion. The camps are held at our campus during spring, summer and winter breaks.

The Sports Heroes Academy Programme

The Sports Heroes Academy, a one-of-a-kind sports programme, founded by Ms Murphy, a PE teacher at Sunmarke, welcomes more than 40 young people into the school each week, to train with one of Sunmarke’s 65 volunteer students.

The programme aims to provide our athletes with equal opportunities regardless of their ability in their chosen sport. The objective is enable athletes to eventually have the opportunity to reach Special Olympic standards.

Sunmarke’s student volunteers work closely with the Inclusion Department to learn the necessary skills to coach and assist their “buddies” during training sessions. Drawing upon our school’s core values and Positive Education ethos, this peer-coaching programme helps develop confidence, physical skills and social communication skills among athletes while allowing for meaningful friendships to develop.

Sheikh Hamdan’s initiative, which aims to make Dubai a friendly city for people of determination by 2020, this powerful programme continues to receive growing support from people across Dubai including external providers such as C.F Tennis Academy, Streetwise UAE and Apollo Perelini.
