Positive Education = Positive Living
Positive Education is not just a curriculum, a method of teaching & learning, it is in, the fact a way of life.
This research-driven, evidence-based, approach is based on the development of human values, competencies, character strengths, and social/emotional well-being as being an integral part of a child’s learning and success.
Prof. Martin Seligman is considered the first in the field to focus on positive psychology and the positive education framework is founded on his PERMAH model, which emphasises the importance of Positive Relationships, Positive Emotions, Positive Health, Positive Engagement, Positive Accomplishment, and Positive Purpose. These dimensions are taught, lived, and embedded within the teaching system and processes to ensure a holistic outcome for children.
It has been seen through a number of studies that children who have positive education as the foundation of their academic careers, perform better and show higher levels of happiness, satisfaction, and contentment. These children are better able to overcome challenges, demonstrate innovation and leadership and have stronger, healthier relationships in life.
With its emphasis on mental and physical well-being for children and adults, positive education is even more important in ensuring the future generation is fully equipped to manage and succeed in an ever-changing global landscape.
