We provide merit-based scholarships in 3 categories – Academics, Sports and Music for gifted scholars.
We encourage gifted students to apply and promise a school journey which will enable each student to flourish and exceed their potential. Students do, however, have to pass a rigorous process to be awarded a scholarship, and hence only the most deserving apply. Students seeking a scholarship will find our process challenging and invigorating, as they will get an opportunity to truly showcase what makes them deserving of the scholarship.
Note, since there are only a limited number of scholarships awarded in a year, competition is fierce. The Scholarship Application consists of the following:
Academic scholarships are awarded from and including Year 10 (typically, age 15+). To get a scholarship, besides meeting a variety of acceptance criteria, the applicant will need to have achieved CAT scores above 135 and be on track or have scored A to A* in all the I/GCSE subjects.
Sports scholarships are awarded from and including Year 9 (typically, age 14+). To get a scholarship, besides meeting a variety of acceptance criteria, the applicant will need to have achieved honours or awards as an individual or as part of a team on the national, regional or international stage in at least 1 sport. Note, if the applicant’s CAT score is lower than 135, they can still apply for this scholarship because we assess for gifted ability in sports.
Music scholarships are awarded from any year group. To get a scholarship, besides meeting a variety of acceptance criteria, the applicant will need to have achieved Grade 8 in at least 1 musical instrument or voice, and show evidence of solo or orchestra performance. Note, if the applicant’s CAT score is lower than 135, they can still apply for this scholarship because we assess for gifted ability in music.
Here is a brief description of the steps involved in our Scholarship Application Process:
Part 1 of Application
Student and Parent details:
Submit the online Scholarship Application form which consists of parent and student details.
CAT (Cognitive Ability Test):
Our Admissions team will then contact you to take the school’s Cognitive Ability Test (CAT), which is a computer test that assesses IQ and cognitive abilities. If you are in the UAE, you are required to come into school and take the test. If you are applying from abroad, you can take the test online. Because of the fierce competition for scholarships, CAT results need to be over 135. Hence, typically, only the gifted and talented apply for scholarships.
Part 2 of the Application
After you submit details, we recommend that you immediately start working on Part 2 of the Scholarship Application form. Part 2 consists of two References: 4 Essays & 1 Video Question
Part 3 of the Application
Students who qualify for the final round will be called for an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team and the Principal.
Part 4 of the Application
Intimation of Results
After the application process is complete, the Admissions team will inform the applicant of the outcome in July 2021, and if successful, the extent of the scholarship and waiver of tuition fees.
