Sunmarke’s Forest School Programme
We want our children to enjoy the same gifts of Mother Nature, as we have ourselves, because she is our very sustenance. To save Mother Nature and our planet, it’s essential that the deep seed of conservation is planted in our children now.
Our mission at Sunmarke is to inspire the next generation of global environmental changemakers to make a positive, life-long impact on not only their own lives, but, indeed, our planet.
The Sunmarke Forest School is a nature-based community where children learn about the environment and sustainability, and come to appreciate, love and preserve Mother Nature. Children’s character, empathy and wellbeing blossom, and they develop a deep commitment to a future we all share.
In EYFS, the programme starts with a gentle and harmonious appreciation of the wonders of Nature. As students move up in primary and secondary, they take on more challenging projects about the environment and sustainability.
Our teachers inspire students through nature-based discovery and exploration in the outdoor environment. Children learn how Mother Nature nurtures us and our wellbeing, and of the importance of conserving Nature in return.
Excitement is in the air. The birds chirp, the sun peeks through the trees, and a gentle breeze rolls through the green landscape, as our young learners explore the Sunmarke Forest Garden.
Our teachers inspire our children who learn how to observe, interact with, and preserve our natural habitat. We garden, water, and nurture our plants and trees. We grow and harvest organic vegetables in our Vegetable Garden and discuss ideas in our Zen Garden.
We study the amazing bio-diversity of the vegetation, water, air, insects, birds and creatures. We learn about the interdependence of life’s biodiversity, and how man plays a crucial part in maintaining this delicate ecosystem.
We learn how to make a biodegradable products. We engage in conservation like beach, neighbourhood, and desert clean-ups. We spread eco-awareness to the community. And we petition for global change and conservation.
We inquire and collaborate. We ideate and problem-solve. We have fun and love every moment of our Forest School.
